Su nodded in agreement to Spokesman Liu’s directives, making his way to the factory 3A’s security office to seal the internal factory doors. Little did Spokesman Liu know that Kanren Su had infiltrated his way into Liu’s little circle of devotees, neither did he know the dire consequences his trust in Su would have. Like an expert assassin Su had discreetly silenced factory Foreman Liang and disposed of the body deep in factory munitions workshops that morning. With his advanced holoprojector technology Kanren Su disguised himself as the young, audacious and sharp Foreman Liang using his knowledge and wits to totally bluff Spokesman Liu and the other protesters.
In a dingy smoky office on the top floor of the factory Liu was secretly beginning to panic at the Imperial Service assault, but tried to remain calm and inspirational in the face of his devotees.
“I want a lockdown of the factory! These Agents are nothing but frivolous servile worms to this abomination of a dynasty! We will have freedom brothers, we must fight for our rights and not be slaves to organisations and institutions, we need a new order and a new society. The light is already dawning, let us not be swayed by the propaganda and lies of the Qing Emperor!”
Liu sent Su to the security office to initiate a lockdown:
“Seal the internal doors and set the turrets online. Have them lured into an enclosed trap with turrets. If these dogs want a war, they shall have it!”
Su moved quickly through the corridors and workshops to the security office, inside two armed protesters were monitoring the screens and relaying information to other individuals. Through the various screens Su could see the Imperial Operatives outside engaged with the protesters around the factory, the protesters seemed to have regrouped and were setting up a defense of attrition by trying to outnumber the Imperial Operatives. The protesters had taken heavy casualties but were beginning to dig in.
“Foreman Liang.” they acknowledged.
“What’s the situation?” bluffed Su.
“It’s not looking good, the Imperials have hit us brutally and crushed our outer perimeter.” they replied
“I have directives from Liu. We are to lure the operatives into the factory workshop, seal them in and let the turrets do the work. We must seal the internal access points also. Both of you check the munitions cupboard and load up, we’re going to be busy.” said Su.
The two protesters moved quickly to load up. While they were busy Su contacted Crane Agent Zhang on a secure network:
“Factory security compromised, be ready to push the workshops. I will disable the defenses.” whispered Su.
“Acknowledged.” confirmed Zhang.
Su began to access the console, with nimble fingers he hacked into the security and disabled the sealed doors.
“What are you doing?!” came a voice from behind Su.
The game was up.
Su unsheathed his monofilament sword and spun around, the protester ducked and rolled across the room. The other protester dived at the console and punched in the turret lockdown sequence while Su was busy with his friend. Su quickly launched himself at the first protester taking his head clean off with a sweep of his sword, cutting the rifle in two that the protester had lifted in defence.
Activating his holoprojector there were suddenly three Su’s in front the remaining protester. The protester panicked, hesitant of which one to shoot with his shotgun. Su circled him and with a blast the real Su shredded the protestor with a quick draw of his chain colt.
Rushing back to the console Su found that the turrets had been activated and the console had been sabotaged to prevent further access, the sealed doors however remained open.
“Kanren Su to Agent Zhang! The doors are open but the turrets are active and I cannot deactivate them! Repeat! The turrets are active!”
“We know!” retorted Zhang.
Su could hear the HMG shots through the comms from the turrets. The Kuang Shi correction team that had entered through the side breach in the factory earlier arrived just at the same time that the turrets came online in the workshops. They never stood a chance.
Crane Agent Zhang switched channels to Imperial command.
“Immediate action unit requested! Hostiles have commenced a fortified lockdown.”
HMG rounds sprayed the area around the Imperial Operatives outside from the automated turrets in the workshops, scanning and surveying any movement. The online turrets had caught the Celestial Guard units outside in surprise. Support from an ALEPH Sophotect tended to the injured Celestial Guards, her Yudbots moving to and fro in the midst of the firefight as she directed them from her Mother-Forge.
“Immediate action unit ETA 8 minutes to your location” responded Imperial Command.
“Hold tight, heads down! Command is sending support” ordered Crane Agent Zhang to his men.
The Imperial Operatives acknowledged the order and laid low under the heavy fire from the turrets. Help was on the way…
